Indigenous Youth Power of Mentoring Event
Are you an Indigenous Youth between 18- 30? Are you looking to build your network and learn about career opportunities?
Join us on September 28 for our #PowerOfMentoring fireside chat and networking event featuring Indigenous leaders and employee volunteers from Starbucks and Deloitte. Participants will share their career experiences and advice on how to navigate your job search. All participants are welcome to wear an Orange Shirt.

A Safe Space
During this Event, we would like to emphasize that this will be a safe, supportive, positive space for all. MENTOR Canada, Deloitte, and Starbucks welcomes you in this safe and brave space as we remember the Seven Sacred Teachings of Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom, Humility and Truth.
There will be no audio or video recording as you share your stories in the event’s breakout rooms. Each participant will be given a chance to be fully and completely heard, and we hope that respect in discourse will give us the ability to work cohesively and powerfully together.
We encourage all participants to express honest feelings while refraining from potentially hurtful or marginalizing language, keeping in mind that all participants are coming from a wide variety of spaces, backgrounds, and experiences. If during the event, anyone feels uncomfortable sharing or participating that is okay – you are welcome to listen; and please share any concerns to any of the facilitators as they arise. We look forward to sharing candid, mutually respectful, and mutually fruitful discussions.

Deloitte Panelists
Whitney Hynes
Whitney is as an Executive Coordinator at Deloitte who works out of our office located in St. John’s, Newfoundland. In her role, Whitney provides remote support to several Partners and Directors across Canada using a highly collaborative, fast-paced, service-oriented approach. Whitney’s expertise in dealing with multiple personalities and work styles has allowed her to succeed in her everyday endeavors at Deloitte.
Erin Sader
Erin was born and raised in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and is a member of the Métis Nation Saskatchewan. She currently works in the Audit Private practice of the Deloitte Saskatoon office and enjoys working with Indigenous based entities and Non-Profit organizations. Erin is currently working on her CPA designation, and serves as an Alumni Advisor for the Indigenous Business Students Society at the University of Saskatchewan.
